DF Infotainment Module "Energy Moves Worlds"

A Flash module was created for the Second German Television's "ZDF mediathek" which offers facts, explanations and background information about all pertinent energy sources.

This project was produced by Labor1 GmbH in Hamburg, Germany. CINEMA 4D artist Sven Hauth was hired to create all 3D content.

In a forty second-long animation, created entirely in CINEMA 4D, the user gets to know the "family of energy sources" and follows it through the world of energy, which simultaneously serves as the main navigation interface. This main navigation consists of a hemisphere on which all energy sources - atomic, coal, solar, hydro, biomass, geothermal, oil and gas - are displayed symbolically in the form of 3D models.

A fill of information can be called up for each type of energy, including over 160 additional 3D graphics and animations.

The center of the world is represented by the "energy house" which includes five different rooms where the user can find and eliminate various sources of wasted energy.

Labor1 GmbH developed ten different Flash engines, each of which supplied with content from separate XML files. This makes it possible, for example, to feed the engines with the 2007 pricing trends for wood pellets as soon as the numbers become available in 2008.
