Carte Blanche for Motion Designers image

Carte Blanche for Motion Designers Chris Bjerre and Peter Clark were given complete creative freedom for their production of an impressive short film in Cinema 4D for the Motion Plus Design event.

The initiators of the Motion Plus Design event in Tokyo want to make motion graphics accessible to as many people as possible. To give the show an exciting visual touch, they invited designers Chris Bjerre and Peter Clark to let their creativity run wild and create an impressive short film for the event.

Their creation, which they made in Cinema 4D, is called PERMUTATIONS and made its premier on June 2 at the Motion Design Plus Event in Tokyo. The inspiration for their film came from the theories of communication scientist and media theorist Marshall McLuhan, who sees all media as an extension of human senses. In line with McLuhans theories, Chris and Peter visualized the process many artists go through while searching for their own creative identity.

In the making of PERMUTATIONS, Chris and Peter explain how they were able to give their 3D character a fascinating appearance with the help of microscopic images of a broken LCD screen, and how MRT scans were used to create point cloud visuals.

Maxon is one of the event’s main sponsors and we hope you enjoy your visit at Motion Plus Design!
