Avid Media Composer doesn’t offer blend modes on the editing timeline, making it impossible to mix footage on different tracks, natively. Universe’s Modes plug-in gives AMC the same native blend modes found in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and FCPX, but with additional powerful features.
