Maxon’s Dr. Sassi and Maximus Raharjo Win a Gold Remi! The Houston International Film Festival recognizes a recent episode of “Max on Color.”

Maxon Senior Trainer Dr. Sassi Sassmannshausen (aka Dr. Sassi) has been mentoring artists since 2004. Adept at film, photography, motion design and architecture, he has also won numerous awards for his work and enthusiastically shares his knowledge with the Maxon community and beyond.

Where some view awards as an opportunity to compete, Dr. Sassi sees them as “a celebration of finding the right way to address the audience and massive motivation to grow and adapt to today’s needs,” he explains.

Maxon is proud to congratulate Dr. Sassi and Max Raharjo on the Gold Remi they were awarded by the Houston International Film Festival for “Exploring Your Artistic Intent” an episode of Maxon’s training series, “Max on Color.”

Hosted by Maxon Colorist Raharjo, “Max on Color” showcases color grading techniques, workflows and settings, as well as engaging interviews with industry professionals to help artists learn more about the craft and keep them abreast of current news and emerging trends.

For the award-winning episode, Dr. Sassi served as writer/director and shared his experience in film production by taking viewers on a journey through the theme of art and intention. “We celebrate visual production tools here at Maxon, and how the results speak to the audience is a crucial part of what Max does on his color show,” Dr. Sassi says.

“I have been doing this for a long time, but learning never stops and I am enjoying a color grading summer semester in Los Angeles with Max right now. I hope people can feel our enthusiasm here and that it sparks their own productions.”
