Easy File Transfer Between Autodesk© Revit© and Cinema 4D IT-SERWIS, Authorized Maxon distributor for Poland publishes R2C4D, a plugin for easy file exchange between Autodesk© Revit© and Cinema 4D.
With the R2C4D plugin solution, IT SERWIS, authorized sole-distributor for Maxon products in Poland and Ukraine, closes the gap for transferring data between CAD and 3D visualization. Users of Autodesk's leading BIM application Revit© will benefit immediately from the intuitive animation and rendering functions in Cinema 4D. The R2C4D plugin set is compatible with Autodesk© Revit© 2015/2016 and Cinema 4D Release 16.
R2C4D's export plugin converts 3D models created in Revit© to the export format. R2C. Using a clearly arranged export menu, the user selects which parts of the object categories should be transferred to Cinema 4D. Contrary to other common exchange formats, R2C4D maintains Revit© hierarchies, which makes editing them in Cinema 4D much easier.
Material IDs assigned in Autodesk© Revit© will be maintained when exported to Cinema 4D. In the Cinema 4D scene, a default material will be created for each material ID, which can be replaced by either a material from the library, which is included and contains reproductions of proprietary Autodesk© materials, or by custom materials. The materials are assigned during import, which is controlled by the Revit© plugin's export plugin counterpart. The import plugin lets users save custom material mapping templates to speed up future imports.
Changes made to objects in the original Revit© scene can be updated incrementally in Cinema 4D using an update function in the R2C4D import menu. All materials assigned in Cinema 4D as well as modifications made to them will be maintained completely.
Detailed information about pricing and availability as well as example movies can be found at the R2C4D website.
