Change of Webshop Payment Provider

Dear Customer,

Maxon had to switch to the new e-commerce provider Verifone Payments B.V. (operating as 2Checkout), based in the Netherlands (EU), as of January 28, 2025. To finalize this transition and to successfully renew your license we need your help.

If your subscription already expired, but was flagged for auto-renewal

You can renew your license through our new provider as described in the email with the subject line ‘[Urgent Action Needed] Keep Your Product Subscription Active!’ that you have received or will soon receive from [email protected].

Follow the instructions in the email to renew, or start a new subscription.

If your subscription has not yet expired, but was flagged for auto-renewal

You can renew your license through our new provider using the following options:

(1) You will receive an email shortly before your license expiration date from [email protected] with the subject line “[Urgent Action Needed] Keep Your Product Subscription Active!“. Follow the instructions in the email to renew.

(2) Or click the button below to access 2Checkout’s myAccount to renew your license. Enter your email and you’ll receive a link to account management where you can add payment information. Please do this now to ensure your subscription automatically renews when due.

If you’ve not yet subscribed, or your subscription was not flagged for auto-renewal

Subscriptions that were not flagged for automatic renewal have not been transferred to the new system. Therefore, it’s no longer possible to flag them for auto-renewal, but you need to start a new subscription.

It’s already possible to make a new monthly or yearly purchase, and renewals will process normally.

Teams / Enterprise Customers:

If you're already working with a dedicated account rep, you can rest easy. Your rep is actively managing your account and can help you as always with renewals and additions to your account.

If you do not renew or start a new subscription, we will not be able to continue your subscription license after the current term and therefore will need to terminate the license agreement. However, this will not affect your ability to use the Software during the current term of your subscription license.

Please note that any emails sent from the email address [email protected] with the subject line: “[Urgent Action Needed] Keep Your Product Subscription Active!“ are legitimate and not phishing attempts. These communications are valid and part of our transition process, and you can safely click on links within these emails.

Who is 2Checkout?
2Checkout acts as authorized reseller and merchant of Maxon online products and services. Your purchase of Maxon products online as well as your payment are processed by 2Checkout. What does this mean for you as a data subject?
Under our End User License Agreement (“EULA”), the subscription license shall automatically renew by the same term, unless we or you terminate it prior to the end of the then-current term (cf. section 3.2 of the EULA). To safeguard that we comply with our contractual obligations under the EULA and to be able to continue to provide the subscription license to you, 2Checkout need to process your information. If you hold a subscription license for one or more of the following products under our EULA: Cinema 4D, Redshift, Red Giant, Universe or ZBrush, and your subscription license is flagged for auto-renewal, we already informed you per email on January 24, 2025, about the upcoming transition. As stated in this email, in order to fulfil our contractual obligations, we, Maxon, shared your name, email address, language, postal address, country, and phone number with 2Checkout.

2Checkout acts as a separate controller with respect to processing of your personal data in the context of your Maxon online purchases. What will happen in case you do not re-enter your payment details or re-subscribe?
According to our EULA your subscription license will be terminated in this case (cf. Section 10.5 of the EULA). In the meantime, you will be able to continue to use the Software for the current term of your subscription license.

How do you access order history and invoices?
